This release<br \/>\nincludes updated desktop, and alternate installation CDs for the i386 and<br \/>\namd64 architectures.  This update is provided in recognition that the current<br \/>\nKubuntu release (8.10) with its cutting edge KDE 4 desktop is not yet<br \/>\nappropriate for all users.<\/p>\n<p>In all, over 200 updates have been integrated, and updated installation<br \/>\nmedia has been provided so that fewer updates will need to be downloaded<br \/>\nafter installation.  These include security updates, and corrections for<br \/>\nother high-impact bugs, with a focus on maintaining stability and<br \/>\ncompatibility with Kubuntu 8.04.<\/p>\n<p><!--break--><\/p>\n<h3>To Get Kubuntu 8.04.2<\/h3>\n<p>To download Kubuntu 8.04.2, please navigate to our <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kubuntu.org\/getkubuntu\/download\">download page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Note:<\/em> The alternate (non-live CD) for AMD64 is slightly over the normal size<br \/>\nlimit used in Kubuntu. It is still smaller than standard CD capacities, but if<br \/>\nyour CD burner has trouble with this image due to size, you should consider<br \/>\none of the other images.<\/p>\n<p>We recommend that all users read the release notes, which document<br \/>\ncaveats and workarounds for known issues.  They are available <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ubuntu.com\/getubuntu\/releasenotes\/804\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>About Kubuntu 8.04.2<\/h3>\n<p>This is the second maintenance release of Kubuntu 8.04, which<br \/>\ncontinues to be supported with maintenance updates and security fixes<br \/>\nuntil October 2009.<\/p>\n<p>Over 200 post-release updates have been integrated, and a number of<br \/>\nbugs in the installation system have been corrected.  These include<br \/>\nsecurity updates and corrections for other high-impact bugs, with a<br \/>\nfocus on maintaining stability and compatibility with Kubuntu 8.04.<\/p>\n<p>See the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ubuntu.com\/usn\">USN list<\/a> for a full list of Ubuntu security updates.<br \/>\nAs of 2009-01-20, all updates affecting packages on the CD have been<br \/>\napplied.<\/p>\n<p>A summary of notable updates follows.
