KDE 4.1.2<\/a> has been released<\/a> and packages are available for Kubuntu 8.04,
\nthe Hardy Heron. These packages install to \/usr\/lib\/kde4<\/em> and can be
\ninstalled along side your existing KDE 3 installation.<\/p>\n

Instructions<\/h3>\n

The updated packages for Kubuntu 8.04 are located in the Kubuntu Member’s KDE 4 Personal Package Archive (PPA) repositories. To update to KDE 4.1.2, please follow these instructions:<\/p>\n

  1. \nFollow the Kubuntu Repository Guide<\/a> to enable Recommended Updates<\/em> (backports) and add the following to your ‘Third-Party Software’ tab:<\/p>\n
    deb http:\/\/ppa.launchpad.net\/kubuntu-members-kde4\/ubuntu hardy main<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
  2. \nYou can now update any existing KDE 4 installation to the most recent version using the Adept Updater tool in your system tray.
    \nPlease follow the     Adept How to<\/a> and install the package called “kubuntu-kde4-desktop”, if you are still running KDE 3 and want to install KDE 4 along your current desktop,\n<\/li>\n
  3. \nNow you should be able to select your new KDE 4 desktop as session in your login manager. In KDM for example: Click the Session Type<\/em> option and select KDE 4<\/em>, then proceed with the usual login steps.\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    kdeplasma-addons<\/em> contains new Plasma fun.<\/p>\n
