These packages install to <em>\/usr\/lib\/kde4<\/em> and can be<br \/>\ninstalled along side your existing KDE 3 installation.<\/p>\n<p><!--break--><\/p>\n<h3>Notes<\/h3>\n<p>This is a beta quality package and may prove to be unstable at times. This<br \/>\nrelease will allow you to follow closely with what is going on in the KDE 4.1<br \/>\nbranch.<\/p>\n<h3>Instructions<\/h3>\n<p>The updated packages for Kubuntu 8.04 are located in the Kubuntu Member&#8217;s KDE 4<br \/>\nPersonal Package Archive (PPA) repositories. To update to this latest beta<br \/>\nrelease of KDE 4.1, please complete the following:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\nAdd <em>deb http:\/\/ppa.launchpad.net\/kubuntu-members-kde4\/ubuntu hardy main<\/em><br \/>\nto your <em>\/etc\/apt\/sources.list<\/em>.\n<\/li>\n<li>\nIf you already have the <em>kubuntu-kde4-desktop<\/em> packages installed, simply<br \/>\ntype <em>sudo apt-get update &#038;&#038; sudo apt-get dist-upgrade<\/em> and answer the<br \/>\nquestions in which you are prompted. If you do not have<\/p>\n<p><em>kubuntu-kde4-desktop<\/em> installed, simply type<br \/>\n<em>sudo apt-get update &#038;&#038; sudo apt-get install kubuntu-kde4-desktop<\/em> and<br \/>\nanswer the questions. Both of these options are to be typed at the command<br \/>\nprompt.\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Some packages are still compiling.  Run the above command periodically to check for new additions.  <em>kdeplasmoids<\/em> contains new Plasma fun.<\/p>\n<h3>Bugs<\/h3>\n<p>\nThere will be many bugs with this release and it is recommended that you do not<br \/>\nfile bug reports against the packages in this release.
