Kubuntu 14.10 is available for upgrade or install. It comes in two flavours, the stable Plasma 4 running the desktop we know from previous releases, and a tech preview of the next generation Plasma 5 for early adopters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

Plasma 4 is our\u00a0recommended stable offering<\/strong> and what you get
\nfrom the default download, but is now in maintenance\u00a0mode.
\nIt runs the software you are familiar with and\u00a0will be getting updates and bugfixes but not new

This is the first release of Kubuntu with the next generation of desktop from KDE,\u00a0Plasma 5. It has plenty of known bugs and missing features, see
